Psychological Safety for Leaders: 2 March 2026, Stream 1

This is a workshop designed specifically for those in leadership and management roles. Whether you're a senior, experienced leader or new to managing people and teams, this workshop will help you learn practices and behaviours to help your team perform and achieve their objectives.

We address the skills and practices you need as a leader, and address how to care for your own psychological safety too. 

  • An brief review of the theory of psychological safety.
  • Leadership examples from various industries.
  • What *not* to do as a manager or leader.
  • Leadership behaviours and practices to foster psychological safety.
  • Cultural diversity and neurodiversity in respect to psychological safety
  • Practices to take away and run with your own team.
  • Inter-team psychological safety. How to reduce friction between teams.
  • Senior leadership teams, executive behaviours and strategy.
  • Further reading and resources.

This is a 2.5 hour workshop that assumes an essential understanding of psychological safety.

It's designed to be applicable to any industry, from technology to healthcare, local government to education.

Time: 9am-11.30am UK time.

We offer one scholarship place entirely free of charge to each workshop. The scholarship is intended for those for whom any payment at all is out of reach. Preference is given to people in lower-income countries and from disadvantaged or under-represented groups. Contact us if you're interested.

Jade Garratt

Jade is all about crafting inclusive, healthy and psychologically safe educational environments that allow both educators and students to thrive. With 15 years of experience spanning classroom teaching, the charitable sector, higher education, and the private sector, she brings a unique blend of insights to the table. Trust, openness, and mutual respect are the cornerstones of her educational philosophy. Initially, Jade dedicated five years to teaching and middle leadership in schools in challenging contexts, alongside her studies for a Master’s in Educational Leadership. She then transitioned to coaching and leadership development with Teach First, a UK educational charity and social movement. More recently, she held a senior position in educational enhancement at the University of Nottingham. Her doctoral research focuses on the impact of students’ educational backgrounds on their university experience, through a social justice lens. With a Physics degree from Oxford University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, and ongoing PhD research in Educational Practice at the University of Nottingham, Jade’s passion for education is at the core of her work. She aims to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed in a supportive environment.
